So I have been putting away some money in order to save up for a sound system in my 2008 528i with its standard US system (Which is an absolute POS!). So I am not sure if anyone has any opinions on the subject, but I am debating on whether I should buy the BSW Speaker System (http://www.bavariansoundwerks.com/pr...eries-M5-E60/#) or go with this guys setup http://www.tyresmoke.net/forum/bmw-5-6-7-s...e-e60-535d.html . I am most probably going to buy one of the systems within a week and am looking for some type of input, all opinions are welcome

Thanks for the reply, but one of the links has nothing on it and the other is about the install. I just wanted to know which was the best way to go, I've read that getting the Blaupunkt amp is an easy install and then getting the BSW speakers will compliment it. Wasn't sure if going for the BSW kit with the amp is better than going with the earthquake setup and buying each piece individually.

I would also pm the topic starter Bruce Miranda he is a fountain of ideas not to mention an electronics wizard. GL

Haha alright thanks for your replies, and of course I've already seen the genius of Bruce Miranda's inventions. Most likely going to get the amp and see how that changes things, if I am not impressed I will go for the gold and get a new system. Again thanks for the help!

My Ride: I have an 05 545i. It's a manual with a few options. This is my first BMW but I don't know how I'll ever be able to switch to something else.
IMO, the earthquake "subs" are shit. I wouldn't waste the time and money are them.
If you just want a quality sounding system with a little extra bump then go for the BSW, it's a quick and easy install and is easily reversible down the road.
Or if you want some bump in the trunk then I would wire up an amp and put some subs in the back. There's a few threads on here of people doing some pretty clean installs of subs in the back i.e. Not just throwing a box in the trunk

Alright I guess you just gave me the push I needed. I was leaning towards the BSW from the start, just wasn't sure if there equipment has changed recently. So my setup is going to be the BSW speakers and the Blaupunkt amp to give me that extra edge. Anyone out there willing to start up a group buy

I have been toying with the idea of getting this upgrade> The only thing that puts me off is I hate the idea of taking of the side door panels. That's not my specialty and I would hate to mess up breaking a clip or something and then everything doesn't go back right. A group buy might sway me though lol.

Imo go with a new system. I have logic 7 and the earthqaukes wired to an amp. It sounds good but you can get way better from a new system. And the earthquakes are not that great. They have bass but it gets drowned out by speakers when you put the volume high. Idk about the bsw but my guess is you would be running a weaker amp since you have the standard system and they will not satisfy you.
Btw I have an aftermarket system in my truck and it sounds better than the logic 7.
