Today, John installed 8000K HID Angel Eyes in my ride. What an amazing mod. The stock E60 angel eyes are so dim -- much dimmer than they were in my E39 540i Sport.

John's HID angel eyes are stunning. They are intensely bright. The AEs light up in bright bright white in the 8000K color. By far the most visible of any of the lighting mods I have had done. They scream "BMW." Thanks so much John. A mod worth every penny.

Here are the pics of them, taken this evening in my parking garage:

That's sort of the idea. To me, the combo of 6000K HID headlights, 6000K HID fogs and 8000K HID AEs produces the most visible light. And my building's parking garage is hardly pitch black.

It's so bright you can't even see the angel eyes, just light. I wonder if this is a good thing or a bad thing? Maybe its just the way the photo came out. /shrug

It's the camera. I have a tiny Sony -- no SLR. In person, the AEs do not disappear into the headlights. But my camera is too simple to play with the exposures. That is why I took the first picture, which was taken from above the lights. That one shows the differentiation.

Yes, the HID AEs are a massive improvement from my 8500k GP Thunder AE bulbs.

I have been debating getting the HID reverse lights but my LED reverse lights are already pure white and pretty bright. But it is tempting.

Thanks. But don't tell Iceman about driving with the fogs on.
