My Ride: BMW 545iA Black Sapphire
Model Year: 2005
Engine: 545i
After 27 months ownership I've decided to give my 545i an exterior update. Previously, it had an ACS lip and the rear M5 boot finisher to complement it's otherwise stock look.
I've kept the ACS lip which I still like. Additional items include :
- M rear bumper
- M sideskirts
- M5 rear spoiler (not installed yet)
- M5 mirrors
- 19" OEM 172M with Dunlop SportMaxx (staggered setup of course)
- SCC 13mm rear spacers, to bring the rear offset in line with the front
I've also been considering the LCI LED taillights when they become available - that would probably conclude the exterior mods on my car, before I consider some light performance mods, most likely in the form of an exhaust and K&N air filter.
I wanted a balanced aggressive, clean and classy look, I like the results. It will keep me going easily until I consider the F10 in the future...
The key elements in my opinion are the M5 mirrors and rear spacers - the car looks HAWT !
Some comments on the wheels, tires, spacers. No real problems to mention actually, when the tires are cold, there is a slight overall vibration (passenger seat slightly shaking) - but this goes away after about 15 km. Ride quality from the Dunlops is good - noise is satisfactory, as expected from all the reviews I read. It's an ultra high performance tire, but also has VERY good wet handling which is a factor for me during our summers here (they are usually wet !) I didn't want my car rendered unsafe during those conditions, especially with 275 on the rear.
Some have mentioned vibrations with spacers - no problems here.
Enjoy !
PS. Thanks to Tony (quad_M) for the m-packet !

Andy, that is absolutely classic BMW. You have put mine to shame. Are you still using RejeX to keep that great finish?
Thanks for the kind words guys !

Beautiful pics to if I may add. Looks like something that should come from a BMW catalogue.
