BTW, I confirmed with Patryk that I do have the GPS antenna even though I never had navigation. Most likely because the car came with BMW Assist.

you do have a GPS in the sharkfin if the car came with Assist- but you have to re-route the cable from the TCU unit in the trunk to the GPS connection on the CIC.

I worked on the car a couple of days ago. More like an investigative work. I managed to get the backseats out. It was actually easier than I thought. In fact, I was surprised to find that the seat back and seats were really light. It doesn't require 2 people to get them out.
I attempted to run the USB and GPS extension cable. However it seems that the GPS extension cable that came with the kit was a bit short. No wonder some people ordered a 2nd GPS antenna and installed it on the front. I did some research and sourced out custom longer extension cables from rfsupplier.com
Also, I tried to run the cables under the carpet through the center area towards the center console. That carpet seems so heavy and tight. It has some foam layer on it so that if I tried to push the cables through, the foam would grip my hand so tight that it felt like it would rip my skin off.
If anybody can provide some cable running tips, I would appreciate it.
On another note. As I was looking at what else was involved. I figure I would get the audio right and just do everything at once (as nelson29 suggested). I ordered a JBL MS-8 and requested some wiring harness from Technic.
Nelson, if you have a link to a good center channel speaker to get I would appreciate it. $90 for cheap OEM speakers doesn't seem worth it. I'm sure there are better quality speakers for that same price that would fit.

Some info I got from Technic regarding his harness:
- the extension cables have their speaker assignment printed on each wire
- the extension cables with 9-wires is your output cable. With the CIC coded to HiFi you will have 4 balanced, low level analog outputs and the remote turn on signal in that cable
- the extension cable with 8 wires is your speaker (front and rear) inputs cable. It will connect your aftermarket amp outputs to the front and rear OEM speakers
- the 20-pin OEM amp harness is the OEM amp interface harness. It will provide only the underseat woofers inputs to your aftermarket amp woofer outputs. Use only the 4-wire pigtail in your application connected into the 4-wire sub-connector in the harness. The 6-wire pigtail is not used in your particular CIC configuration.
Also, my center dash speaker came in. I stuck with OEM
