Thumbs up

Could someone please tell how much my ride is going to deteriorate by going to 19" wheels from my 18" wheels. I also will be going from runflats to non-runflats... Could use your advise. This is a great forum!

I think the general consensus you'll find is that going from runflats on 18s to non-runflats on 19s will, if anything, improve your handling and ride quality. ;-)

In that you currently have 18? run flats?by going to a 19? non-run flat your handling, performance and ride quality will improve! Just stick with a good tire like the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S or PS2...oh yeah and they will be quieter too

Haven't experienced that combination change, but going from 17" RFT' to 17" non-run flats, the ride quality is SOOO much better.

Therefore, I reckon the decreased ride quality in going to 19" will be well more than off-set by going to non run flats. My guess is that it will be a better ride on 19" non-run flats that 18" with run flats.

I'd be interested in getting a definitive answer if you make the change.

I went from 124 18" Dunlop RF to 135 18" Goodyear RF to 172 19" Non RF Continentals. The ride on the Non RF's is the best but tyre noise is virtually the same.
I'm sure you'll be pleased.

Of course the best one's to get are the std 16" wheels. Great ride with pants looks

Yup is so quiet in my car that I can heard myself breaths but the looks

The search for my rim continues....and in the mean time I am just enjoying the peace and quiet in a BMW (something only relates to Lexus' drivers)

If you have the 2005 std wheels they won't be the original std wheels will they? What do they look like? Please post a pic or type code.

I recently changed my M135 18" rims with Dunlop RF tyres, for M172 19" rims with Michelin PS2 NON-RF tyres.

Best decision I ever made!

Smoother and quieter ride. Much much more comfortable.

Even with 30mm wider rear tyres they are still quieter.

(Note: when I first put on the Michelins, I was really paying close attention to the sound difference & I got very concerned by a slight humming sound. But the guys at tirerack said I shoud wait till the tyres were properly run in.
I have now done 600km's & the hum has gone. The PS2's are really superb.)

What size tires did you go with? I have ordered PS2's... Fronts are 255/35ZR19 and rears are 285/30ZR19. Are these to big? Wheels are Front 8.5x19 and rears are 9.5x19... 15 and 25 offsets respectively...

I think run-flats is a good marketing idea that should already be talked about in the past tense...the question about rim size is all about compromising control vs confort...
