either way, im interested in this mod....but at a fraction of the asking price tho. They are going for much cheaper on eBay right now...id rather have the authentic M5 cluster if possible, otherwise i plan on doing the DIY version either this weekend or next...

let me know if your still selling these, it would be nice to simply buy one coded rather than take mine apart, but im not adverse to either route.

ok, my OEM M5 cluster is on its way to the States...i need to know how i can go about getting this thing wiped clean and coded for my car...

anyone offer this as a service? any advice on how to get this done? Patyrs....if you are selling the clusters, do you have a DIY for coding/installation? any help would be greatly appreciated!

I know this is bringing this thread back from the dead but hoped to get some information. Has anyone that performed this retrofit had an issue with cruise control no longer working?
I sent a cluster to Patryk 6 months ago to code and got it back and the cruise would not work. He had me send another cluster and the same thing with that. He is now saying he thinks it is an issue with communication between the cluster and the DCS module. Car is a 2008 550I cluster came out of a 2008 M5.

I have the exact same problem. I have put in a complete reset M5 cluster in my E61 523i, 11/2007. And I also dont have cruise control. If you read out the errors, it is the communication with the DCS that gives an error.
Some have asked me to read out the trace file from the old cluster and the M5 cluster and then compare where the differences are, but I dont have the equipment for this.


Hope some one can help, since I miss my cruise control.
