Roleez.....you have a heavy foot, or you just drive more than I do, or both!
BOTH! But in all honesty, it's 95% drive-a-lot vs. 5% heavy-foot! (My put 48,000 miles on my former 550 in only 2 & 1/2 years).

jasonrhcastle, I just noticed something. You stated in your first post that you ordered heated steering. But from the hi-res pic you posted, the heated steering wheel button is missing. It's not next to the tilt switch where it's supposed to be. You might want to have a little chit-chat with your dealer if you haven't taken delivery yet!

I think you are right, Roleez...good catch! His seats look much meaner than mine, though.

Me thinks you are right....

Humm.......

Well, I will have to talk to Adrian about that today. Either way, not a deal breaker (although I love the heated wheel). I may have to retrofit one.

As far as gas goes, I am a little concerned about it. But, I expense all my gas through my practice anyway. So, just more of a deduction (I hope). I have a 15 mile roundtrip commute along lake roads or twisty country roads. Had to get the M....Just had to....

Just a quick question, and I probably should search about this, but do the seat backs articulate forward on the M Sport seats? I thought I had seen a pic of AvusAndy's Portland seats where the seat back was articulated forward at M5board.com.

Well, I just got home from Atlanta. I, and a friend who picked up a loaded 335i sedan, flew down yesterday morning. Nice trip (except for having to wake up at 2:30 for a 5:30 flight, and no power at home for a quick espresso) overall. We flew US Airways, arrived in Atlanta around 9:30, and there was Adrian in a Space Gray X5 4.8 with those beautiful black 21 inch wheels.

Adrian was a real pro, helped out so much through the whole process. Made me a fantastic deal on my M5. Great deal on my buddy's 335i. Even picked us up himself. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

So, about the car. WOW, WOW, WOW! Has this thing got power or what? Jesus. It was absolutely gorgeous. When I got there, the clear bra was still being applied. So, I didn't get to see it for over an hour. However, it was so worth the wait. I have some pics on my friend's camera, and I will have to get them tomorrow.

SMG is not that bad. I had never driven one. None of my local dealers have had any for quite a while. I was quite nervous as I hadn't driven one. However, after about 5 minutes, I got the hang of it. I still need to master (i.e. learn) how to handle the throttle better in gears 1-2-3. Cruising down the highway, along the back roads was brilliant. Absolutely a blast. Had a 996 TT try and run me a couple times outside Atlanta. I stayed with him while trying my best not to exceed 5500 RPM.

Overall, I love the car. I am slightly worried that I got "too much car" (can definitely see where others have said that), but I am CERTAIN that is just me getting used to the vehicle. The sound of this thing is amazing at all speeds. For about $120/month difference between this and the 550i (without picking it up in Munich) it is a no brainer. And SOOOOOOOOO much more fun to drive.

Pics to follow.
