I actually just sold my 530i last week. I was scheduled for a 550i ED. However, with the deal I got on the M5 it worked out the same as putting down the MSD's and paying for the 550i here in the US.

No brainer.

Now, to just tell the wife.... Ouch...
550 vs M5 purchase, think our resident doc was in the same dilemma... . I'm sure DrLev99 will chime in eventually . He's got a pretty long thread regarding his dilemma between the 2 e60's and which to purchase. Great choice in the end, the both of you

He and I went back and forth about this actually. He had reconsidered his M5 once he had it, and I thought about taking it from him. But I "decided it just wasn't practical"....

Yeah, right. Here I am two months later....

Congratulations Jason! Just use the same line my wife uses on me..."Look how much money I saved today!"

Congrats on the new ride. That seems like an amazing deal. In Canada for my 535xi the price was just over $81,000. I pay $1420.01 a month for 36 months, PLUS had to put $6000 down. We get RIPPPPPPED in Canada
Another example, today I went in to my dealer to see about TPM sensors, $900.. + $400 to install them, because they would have to demount my tires (a whole 30-40 mins of work) sounds like a deal to good to be true huh, lol..

You rang?

Congrats on the ride, Jason! Welcome to the M family. It sounds like you got a sweet deal, and you even got HUD which I wish I had. No SAT radio?

Now where are the pics?! Can't wait to see the beast. And I love the M5 in Space Gray...would have been my first choice.

So, what's the first mod? I highly recommend some 10mm rear spacers to start. Then you can pull the charcoal filters and throw in some BMC air filters and RPI scoops.

Then install black front and side grills, only to remove then a week later and sell them for half of what you paid.

Yeah, you screwed me! J/K!

Once April passed, so did all of the good residuals and money factors. Now, the M5 is only $200-$300 more per month than the 550i on a lease...was a $500 difference in April. Now that I have experienced M, however, it's going to be hard to drive anything else. You'll see what I mean very soon....

Yeah, you are totally right. The new residuals, even with ED, made this 200/month more. So, I really couldn't pass it up. And I had to put down 4 MSD's there, where I have nothing out (except acq fee) with the M.

I do have Sat, but forgot to put it on the list. I couldn't forget the Sat...Love my Sirius.

Here are some pics my CA sent....

Welcome to the world of fill-ups every 2 days! Love the setup! A buddy of mine has the same spec, right down to the color! Congrats on the M-car; you'll definitely love every mile spent in it and every dollar filling it up. My gas bill last month: $480. Gotta pay to play!

Love it! It looks very familiar inside, except for the seats. Even though mine are ventilated, I think I'd prefer your M Sport seats to my comfort seats. They just look better. I still can't get comfortable in mine, although it's getting better. And I'm glad to see you got the SMG....you will love it!

I also see you got the optional rear, side window shades. Do you know how long the car was on the lot, build date? Just curious because mine was on the lot for over 7 months, which contributed to my sweet deal...build date 07/07...got it in April. That other black '08 M5 has been on my dealer's lot for an entire year!

As for gas, I spent $274 on gas in June...and $227 in May. I was averaging about $135 per month with the 530xi...of course gas has gone up, if you haven't heard. Roleez.....you have a heavy foot, or you just drive more than I do, or both!

Now go knock the rust off those rotors and dust off the gas card, too! ENJOY!

BTW, I have a brand new set of Eibach springs if you so desire.
