it's been a while since I've posted around here but ever since I got rid of my baby last year I've had the itch to jump into an m5 and with prices looking so good the itch has gotten tougher not to scratch but I've stayed on the outside looking in, living vicariously through of you guys on this board and m5board.com and saving my money (this economy is scary!)

Life though has a way of throwing you curve balls and after the unfortunate passing of my brother in law's younger brother (only 34), I figured I might as well live my life to the fullest since my money is just sitting in the bank. So i've started my search and wanted some opinions of the 1st couple of cars I found

08 with 50K miles for $42g - My head is screaming RUN AWAY, but my heart has a soft spot for Interlagos.

http://www.allcityau...=eqkRIzcwYj8%3d

07 with 10K for $49g - contacted owner but he is about to make a deal keeping my fingers crossed still

http://www.autotrade...&loggedOut=true

06 with 38K for $44g - is the price too high?

http://www.autotrade...type=b&make=BMW

08 with 26K for $49g - my head is screaming run away too, price seems so low for such mileage - contacted the dealer too

http://www.autotrade...type=b&make=BMW

07 with 23K for $45.9g - love the price not too crazy about the color

http://www.cars.com/...racktype=usedcc

What are the things I should look out for besides the early vanos problems in the 06 & 07, I've also read that the '08s shift better than '06s & '07s

Any help is appreciated gentlemen

I have heard that not only do the 08+ cars shift better, but the tranny is better, as the 06 and 07 have had many SMG problems. Go for the 08 with 26k is what I say. LCI is always better.

A little late to the game here, but that '08 is listed on the Autotrader site for $56K+...for a CPO. Is the dealer really willing to come down $7K? If so, I have some negotiating to do...looking at a CPO '08 with 35,000 miles listed for $55K and the dealer said $52K is the lowest he can go. Thoughts?

Dunno if you are still in the market, but if you are, mine is for sale. It has been a garage queen while in my possession as I have averaged less than 5k miles a year on the car. Here is the link:

http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...Y_URL&stkTyp=U

btw- no need to worry about any transmission issues on this car, I just had the clutch, flywheel, & SMG Pump replaced all brand new at the local BMW dealer!
