Hehe didn't check that he was not using the gears himself

Yeah i also had something about those crossing hands... you see it in the first run he almost hit the last corners when sliding

. But nice take-overs on crucial moments if you ask me

Although this guys steering looked awkward there is no reason not to cross you hands steering whilst driving on a track.

In fact this is preferable to trying to push pull - or let the wheel slide - like you would on the road.

On a track you want to have maximum control and strength to hold the wheel where you want it to be and turn it quickly. The reality is to achieve this you will need to cross your hands. Alll professional racing drivers do this to some extent.
