Here is a little teaser from R&T. When I have enough time, I'll do the whole article. Please note!!! These times were achieved with Euro Spec Launch Control (LC) which in the USA is and will be watered down so expect times to be somewhat slower.

Well I hit click and went to bed expecting the darn thing to work. Maybe this time?
Hi cd:

My R&T was waiting for me when we got home. I noticed something interesting to me. Note the following.

M6:

0-110 = 10.9
1/4 mile = 12.4 @ 118.1
0-120 = 12.7

M5:

0-110 = 11.3
1/4 mile = 12.4 @ 115.8
0-120 = 13.3

I think that the M6 really as much as, for example, .09 quicker in the quarter than the M5. For example, maybe the M6's unrounded time was, for example, 12.35, while the M5's was, for example, 12.44. These hypothesized values, as well as other similar ones, seem more consistent with the above data than the 12.4 values reported. In any case, I think the M6's 1/4 time seems too slow. Maybe this value is simply misreported in the article. I am more comfortable with 12.4 for the M5 than for the M6.
Either misreported or using different techniques for the 1/4 mile run versus the 0-110 & 0-120 runs which makes no sense. You can see in the numbers other than the 1/4 that M6 is consistently quicker by 0.4 to 0.6 sec. So even rounding does not explain this. Maybe a letter to R&T to clarify is needed. The rate of gain or deltas at high end seem to be much better for the M6 (lighter?)

Exactly, except that I think that rounding, possibly in combination with minor timing discrepancy, could expain "it" since the other time values also might be rounded. I have never written a letter to a car mag, but maybe I'll get around to it.
