ha ha, keep your car SB free, but don't spoil the fun had by others with the SB
p.s.i don't really believe what you posted anyway

I have a feeling that the SB that he's basing his opinion on - the one his friend had and sold - was not calibrated right, because it is impossible to arrive at the conclusions he had stated previously with a properly operating SB. It just isn't logical. Or, like I said, he might just be fvcking with us

Heard a lot about these.....

Not really sure if this is for me or not, I use my M5 for an everyday drive, and do around 40k miles a year, mostly sensible motorway (highway) driving. Sure I do some track days also and love having a "spirited" drive in M mode every day. BUT would adding SB not make the car less user friendly when wanting to drive sensibly? I mean if throtle response is that much quicker does that make car less user friendly when driving smoothly in traffic or or long drives?

Like I state above, it does take some getting used to at first. You just have to be a bit easier on the throttle but should be able to adapt pretty quickly. My car's a daily driver also and I sit in a lot of traffic going to and from work but I have the SB on top of a software remap. I absolutely LOVE it.

That said, again it does boil down to personal preference. When I organized a group buy for these a while back I actually sent a unit to Darren_Dallas on M5board to try out on his M5. He think he told me he didn't really like it so he gave it to another member in his area and that person liked it and bought it. A while later, the discussion came up again when the ///M version came out and a bunch of people bought it and didn't hear of any complaints...just praises.

I should just buy one and send it out to people as a loaner to try, even though I don't even sell the damn thing.

All it does is increase throttle response and on his manual 530 we found that it made driving the car less enjoyable. I would definitely NEVER buy one and especially not when it costs the rediculous price that it does...

the funny thing is, right after he sold his SB, the guy who bought it from him ended up selling it a few days after he got it as well. This is by far the most hyped up mod on the site lol.
Yeah, it's definitely not for you.

A handful of M5Board members in Long Island tried mine last year and loved it so much, they went out and bought the M version for their cars. Some had MT and the rest had SMG. I was curious about how it would work on a M with MT. I tried it in Mario's M6 and loved it. However, I still prefer SMG over Mt, but that's a whole other discussion.

Shhhhh...nobody tell this guy about the "25 second trick". Even though it's free, he probably won't like that either.
