1. On the sticker, what is the City/Highway MPG?
2. How many miles you get on a full tank on avarage?

Thanks!

12/18 I believe...

computer says I'm averaging 12.9---only have 400 miles on her.--as Tiff says in the 5th gear video-
"what a car"

who cares anyway...my Landcruiser gets 12 mpg as well--not quite as much fun either.

My only concern is the frequent stops at the gas station which I hate... paying few hundred $$ more a year is nothing compare to the fun factor...

Absolutely no way... my 550i does 240-250 on a tank.

I've read ppl on this forum complaining they get 250 KM on a tank which is about 156 Miles...

Sorry, but I don't think you are more qualified then me based on your 400 miles experience during beak-in.

No one is trying to offend you, i'm allowed to disagree, your second line is completely unnecessary and childish, no one is forcing you to respond, but if you do, do it the appropriate way that suits this forum please.

Hello,

My usual gas mileage is about 13.5 MI/Gallon US. This equates to 180 miles per tank.

However, on the open road on crusie control @ 85 MPH we actually "enjoyed" 15 MI/Gallon.

Hope that helps!

You've got your "sticker" answer already, 12/18

Hopefully this doesn't get deleted/changed, but you could get much more knowledgeable responses to your M5 questions over at m5board.com. Just trying to help out, especially if you're focused on getting an M5.

I have about 2200 miles now on my M5. On a full tank, I regularly go to about 180-200 miles before filling up, and my range is regularly 260-285 miles. The tank holds 18.5 gallons, the same as all E60 5-series cars. When you put that to an average 14-15mpg that most people get with the M5, you can see why I fill up when I do all the time (about 1/4 tank left). Many M5 owners report getting 19-21mpg on the open highway during longer road trips. I can't attest to this since I haven't taken any longer road trips, but for 15-20 mile runs on the freeways around town I have got 19mpg when I reset the meter just to test things out. In the city, it's very easy to get only 12-13mpg even just driving normally. That's what you get when you have a V10 engine! I usually reset my mpg meter on ever tank, and so far most of my averages have come out in the 14.x mpg somewhere...most recently 15mpg. The poster who said they get 13.5mpg per tank actually has a much greater range than the 180 miles they said...they have a range of about 250 miles total (13.5 times 18.5 = 249.75). 180 miles though would be a good point to fill up the tank. On this car, the gas warning light comes on when you have about 70 miles left...that's 1/4 tank!

After you get done with the break-in (1200 miles) and have the 1200 mile service done, the car seems to open up a little more AND you get better mileage. BMW uses a different type of oil for the break-in period than is run for the rest of the car's life, so that appears to have something to do with it.
