This is a little off topic, but how would most people here compare the reliability between the e39 m5 and the e60 m5.
For a few months, I was in the market for an e39 m5 but have just heard nightmares about reliability, maintenance cost.
I browse the e60 m5 boards and all the posts are about how great the car is. I understand the e39 is older and the e60 has some catching up to do in terms of mileage, but there are some low mile e39s with some problems....
Aside from a sketchy SMG clutch, I feel like the e60 is pretty solid.
Thoughts anyone?
