I am in a final stages of purchasing an '06 530i and a friend is willing to sell me his M5 wheels. He sent me this pict stating they are 20's ?
My research tells me they are style 166 but not sure about the 20" though ?
Did BMW ever made them in 20's and are they desirable and how much do they go for ? The wheels are flawless and tires i was told are Toyo's and have 80% tread left.

Any help greatly apprciated ?
Thanks

Nope ... AFAIK OEM 166 = 19" only... get detail pics from the back side, it should reveal a lot of info.

Thanks for the lightning fast replies and that's exactly what i thought. Now if they are indeed 19' how much do they usually go for with 80% tread on the tires ? are these desirable wheels ?
Thanks

depends on the tires size..

if they are non e60 sized tires (even m5 tire size, as M5 wheel arches are wider allowing bigger tires) the tread life is worthless to you as you won't be able to mount the wheels and tires without possible rubbing issues

a brand new set of 166 OEM wheels alone will run ~$2400 with dealer discount and no sales tax. Tack on another ~$800 for wheels and you have a set of wheels and tires for ~$3200.

Maybe I'm biased , but IMO 166 wheels are desirable....

I know of a set of OEM 166's in excellent condition for sale if you are interested. Socal pick up is even better if you are in the area.

Maybe one of the moderators can help.

Those look like replicas. Go to the dealership and look at OEM Style 166s on a M5 and you will see the difference. Real 166s have indentions near the top of each "spoke". I bought my 550i with replicas, not knowing any better, and it became clear parked next to the real thing. Plus, the dealership pointed it out while mounting new tires on them. The back side will have BBS and serial numbers.
