While everything is still warm outside I still can remember clearly the cold winter we had last year.

I drove the 540 with 135 type wheels with Dunlop SP winter sport 3d RF for almost 6 months and they were excellent. But since the 135 and the Dunlop RF's are not compatible with the M5 I have ordered a brand new set of 184 type wheels from eBay. These are the recommended BMW m5 winter wheels.

Now I am considering of buying the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA-3 245/45 R18 V to go with the 184 for a nice winter setup.

Anyone have any thoughts about this setup ?

I have used the PA3's for 2 winters without issue. The previous 6 winters were Dunlop M2's. The PA's are quieter, have better dry traction, and slightly worse snow traction. Still, they get the job done in winter.

I just purchased that exact setup from the dealership brand new $1700 bucks . Havent had them through winter, but have to be better than my 172's with summers.
