Can I use an OEM 166 19x8.5 front M5 wheel as a temporary spare for the rear M5 wheels?
My buddy has a spare front wheel and I was going to pick it up to use just in case needed.
Does any one know if this will work in the rear?

I'm gonna try to test fit it to see if I can roll on it.

front will work in the rear without any problems..
The back on the other hand wouldn't cuz its too big for the front... Go for it.

Will do.
Im gonna give it a shot. I read in another thread that the wheel sizes have to match or the car will think it's pelling out and cause the car to go into neutral.
Can anyone confirm? Skund...?

yes, ur gonna have issues... the tire diameter needs to be the same! especially in the rear, you dont wanna mess up your differential.
although i just did the tire size calculations and its only .1 inch off... mine was a whole inch off when i was having those issues so you might just be alright!![Thumbsup](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/thumbsup.gif)
i really hate not having a spare in my car for the longer trips maybe i'll do the same! for short drives it should be ok

when you do this, make sure not to reset the flat tire warning and the car wont drop into neutral even if u have different sized tires.
reset it once the spare is off and u'll have no problems..
just found this out since i bent another rim and this time left the flat tire warning the whole week the spare was on and had 0 issues with the different size tire up front
