New Owner

Hi all,
Thought I'd say Hi. After selling my 2001 M5 many moons ago, I just took the plunge again. I just picked up a carbon black / black 2010 M5 SMG with 9600 miles on ebay. It's in Florida now but should be on a truck to me by Thursday.
I hate to start off here with a question, but I'm under the gun. The Dealer has offered to CPO the car for $2800. There is almost exactly 3 years and 40k left on the factory warranty - it's in-service date is May 09. I will probably not hit 50k by the time the 3 years is up, so I'm basically buying years, not miles.
1) Is $2800 the right number?
2) What is the conventional wisdom here - do you think the extra time is worth it?
Thanks Everyone!
-Mike

Worth it for $2800 I think. I would get it. if it goes in the shop between years 4-6 once you prob made up most of the money. and on top of it if you want to sell it around year 5.5 the next owner will still have a piece of mind.

Extended warranty and CPO is different right? it sounds liek the dealer is offering extended warranty... not CPO... but i guess its close enough... minus the new tires
Oh N/M i just re-read the post... in that case its even better right? new tires and 2 yr warranty for $2800!??!!?!

It is CPO, it is listed on their website as CPO. However the CPO status is "pending". I basically think they did the inspection and knew it would pass. Then offered it for sale both at the dealer and ebay. Figuring if it sells for less on ebay then they can then hit the new owner up for CPO if they want it. Basically it is a matter of do they pay BMW NA the CPO fee or not.
