Default New M5 Owner

Hello!

Just picked up my 2010 M5 last week. Low Miles, 6 Speed, Carbon Black, I couldn't pass it up.

Recently sold my E55 AMG, the car just wasn't what I was thinking it would be, still a great car, but just wasn't for me.

Looking forward to learning as much as I can and helping out when I can.

Oh ya... got myself some genuine OEM rubber floor mats ready to install. Should be good for at least 10 whp.

Congratulation on M5!
We would like to hear your honest comparison on MB and BMW now.

Here goes..

It's a bit comparing apples to oranges, what with the 5 year model difference and all, but the MB did a lot of things well; went like stink off the line, all that torque was crazy from a stop. I didn't really care for the air suspension, and I had the Renntech electronic lowering module on it, so it was a tad bumpy, but that was to be expected.

Interior wise, it was great, It had the birds eye maple trim, on black leather, so it looked great.

It had keyless go (which didn't work), and the active seats (which didn't work) . The wagon-ness of it was super duper rare, and the color was amazing (Melanite Black), it definitely turned heads.

Ultimately for me, it just didn't have that wow factor while driving it every day, and I felt like someone else would enjoy it more.

Here's some pictures of the ol' gal.

The M5 is totally different, so much more modern, and the 6 speed brings so much driving excitement for me, you feel so much more connected to the car.

No offend to auto M5 owners but I think driving M5, and other BMW sport models is like dating a pretty woman for long time and not making love with her. It is shame that late MB AMGs do not come with manual transmission.

Technically, there's no such thing as an auto M5.
