My Ride: 2006 M5 Silvertone /Aluminum Trim 2008 550i blk/blk - Sold
Default

Hello all,

sharing a bit of innovation for those of you who don't know about RPi Scoops. I've been away from this forum and on m5board - but the site is getting crowded and slow.

This is the best mod available for the beast.

The ram air scoops are available in red, black or brushed aluminum.

- 2007 M6 test (+12whp)
- 2006 M5 test (+10whp)
- 2008 M5 test (+16whp)

What?

Are there any pics of them installed on a car? Red would be hideous behind the grill...

EuroCarFan has the scoops on his M5. You can check them out at the Central Cali Meet.

This is what it looks like under the hood installed on a M6.

Humm interesting... I guess I'll have to see in person. but I thought it would look bad with two red things behind the grill... with all those pics of the M6 you would think there would be 1 pic taken directly face on.

There's more than 30 M5 owners out there with the RPI, its the best mod per dollar so far and with free dyno test. Like I said I've been at the "other" board too long and wanted to share this with anyone here.

Again this site is so much faster, and a bit more mature.

Short question: Why does it differ from the year model the output of this system (meaning 2008 vs 2007)

Sorry it may sounds silly, but what it's actually for? feeding more air in for the intakes?

The scoops are like ram air intakes and feed the cold air from the grilles into the air filters. It's similar to Dinan's Ram-Air Intake for the 330i.
