Wolverine, you need to check your production# today.? I suspect that your car will also be produced this week.

correct me if i am wrong, but it is currently week 36 right?
I think this week is week 35. My car was schedule for week of 9/12 (week 37)
Well, just a head's up - Week 37 is the week beginning September 18. I don't believe any production is scheduled before September 5. I heard this from a BMW insider:
Dingolfing is closed untill the 5th of september ( 4th is sunday )
This makes sense, since the Model year 2006 production is scheduled to begin in September. I called BMWNA at the number given, and my car is still "on order". Are you sure of your souces?

BTW, did you use the auotmated menu or speak to a person?
The automated menu shows the same information as the web. I will double check today,

That is very strange. I just called BMW and speak to a lady called Laurie.
My car is in production as of 8/29. (week 35).
I got my VIN today as well. It appears that my car is 100% for sure 2 weeks ahead of original production schedule of 9/12 (week 37).
Wow - I spoke to Didi, and she said my car is scheduled to go into production on Monday, Sept 5! I should get delivery early October. Awesome - I'm pretty excited, this is a couple weeks ahead of schedule. Sounds like I'm a week behind you. Thanks for the tip on the phone line!

You can call back next tuesday, a VIN should be waiting for you.
Kind of strange that your production number was earlier than mine, but some how i ended up a week ahead of you. However, i will mostly not be able to get my car until mid to late october since I am in the west coast.
Well, I'm not quite sure about the quality of the information we're getting. The Dingolfing plant has been shut down the entire month of August and will not restart until September 5.

I think BMWNA's information this time around should be correct. Normally you don't get a VIN unless the car is in production.
