I always extensively mod my vehicles, and since this M5 was most recently purchased to replace my wrecked SRT8, I figured I was going to black it out like the truck was. I was wondering if anyone had some pictures of one done up like this?

I am planning on Carbon Kidneys and Sides, Black M5 Badge, Smoked Taillights and Headlights, Black 20" OZ Ultraleggera, H and R and much more.

Also, if I put 20x8.5 and 20x10 can I run 245/295 or 305 instead of 245/285?

Here is the truck, and here is what happened to it! This is what the M5 will be like shortly!

THEN......

Darth Vader edition?

Ouch. what happened to the Jeep SRT8? I actually really like that version of the Jeep.

Oh and Nice neighborhood... can I ask where you're located? State or General region is good... not asking for address

Long story. A lady decided to stop on a highway to put her top up when it started raining instantly. She was at fault. It made me so mad to know people can be that stupid! As far as where I live, it is in Jacksonville, FL. The house you are actually looking at across the street from mine is a fellow car enthusiast and he as an F40, Carrera GT, F430 Spider, F430 Coupe, CLS55, RR, and much more!

But yep, it's Gonna Be Darth Vader M style!

That's one mean looking Jeep. I've seen a few M5s with totally black wheels. I guess it looks menacing but I prefer some kind of polished or chromed lip to give it some contrast. That's just my preference though. You should go for it and post some pics.

If you run wider wheels yes, you can fit wider rubber on the E60 M5.

I have RAC Monolites 20x9 front and 20x10.5 rear, and am running 275/30 fronts and 305/25 rears. That is a little undersized to stock (should only be 275/35 and 305/30) but you can't find a matching set of four tires with both front and rear fitments. A few models are available in front sizes, a few in rears, but not both. It'll drop about another 3% in rolling diameter. I believe Falken FK-452 and/or Toyo Proxes T1R might be available in the 275/30 + 305/25 combo, or maybe not. The T1R might only have a 305/30, which might not quite work in the wheel well, or even worse could cause DSC/ABS system issues if paired with 275/30 fronts because the rolling diameters of front and rear could fall outside of the system tolerances. Next set of tires...I might very well be the guinea pig and see what happens.

I'm running ContiSportContact 2 275/30 fronts, and ContiSportContact 3 305/25 rears. Very nice handling, but you'll need the alignment done (you'll need that anyway when you do the H&Rs) to try and dial out the increased understeer you're going to get. My guy took toe-in to zero (stock is 1/16" in, heavy track drivers would do 1/16" out or maybe more). Couldn't mess with front camber much, but tried to max out the stock system. Rear camber was WAY off front the factory (one wheel 2.0, which is correct, but other was 1.5 and caused problems). Took both of those to 2.1, but supposedly stock is capable of 2.2 and he just couldn't get it there. Slightly increased and corrected rear camber and front toe-in to zero basically brought the car back to neutral...then I did the following...

For the mods you mentioned, I would HIGHLY suggest adding the Dinan rear sway bar and Front Roll Control kits. Very cheap, and you'll get big gains in handling with the springs and wider rubber. Heck, just the Dinan kit is great for everyone without any other changes IMO, and it's cheap too. Definitely one of the best bang for the buck mods. Now the car rotates perfectly, basically no understeer situations that can be helped by suspension work right now...and if I wanted to go towards oversteer I could always adjust the rear sway bar from the lightest setting to the middle setting (middle setting is supposed to only be used with Dinan or H&R springs, firm setting is never used unless you feel you really need it for the track) and loosen up the rear end a little more.

Good luck!

I'd like to see pictures of that! Most people are running 275 to 285 in the rears of their non M5 e60. Including me! Any pics?
