My Ride: 2005 545i with everything
I agree with the other posters that one of the big appeals of the M5 to me is the plain wrapper over the supercar performance. I don't want people staring at me because of my car. That's why I love my 545i.

E60 M5 is really really a piece of ART ,
esp. when you compare it with E55

Add Hamann's wide body kit and you'll see a head turner!

The only mistake I think BMW have made with the M5 is the alloys that they've used, they are just basically a larger version of the E60 sports models, they should have used the 19" wheels which are available as an option on the E60 sports models they are in my opinion more of an M series type alloy and allot more attractive than the current M5's, I have that optional alloy on my 535Dsport and I've had two M5 owners agree with this opinion, and no I'm not being bias because I love anything with a BMW badge on it,this is just my opinion.

The M5 is an enthusiasts car.
The casual onlooker might not see the difference, but those of us in the know.... we can spot it a mile away.
And... speaking from experience... having driven an M5 on the performance center track.... the M5 merely LOOKS like an E60. But the drive is another story. It is a totally different animal.

The M5 and M6 look good as they are. There's alot of allowance to personalise the ride if you so wish to, whether it be wheels, bodykits or wide body fenders.
Perfect!!!
