G-Power ;)

The new G-Power prepped BMW M5 Hurricane RS has obtained the bragging rights for the fastest street-legal sedan in the world after it broke the long-standing record of the BRABUS Mercedes-Benz CLS Rocket. In November 2008 the 750 HP strong G-Power M5 Hurricane RS achieved a new top speed of 228,4 mph (367,4 km/h) at the ATP High-Speed test track in Papenburg, Germany. Compared to the ?standard? 730HP M5 Hurricane which has been clocked at 223.8 mph (360 km/h) earlier in 2008, the RS features ASA two modified superchargers with enlarged capacity.

After the record for the world?s fastest BMW sedan, G-POWER did it again and broke the long-standing record for the overall fastest sedan in the world. 2010 the 800 hp strong G-POWER M5 HURRICANE RR realised a new top speed of 231 mph (372 km/h). Nobody is faster. Worldwide!
The foundation for this record is the know-how of more than 25 years of G-POWER. A true success story that began in the early 1980ies with the legendary G-POWER G3 Bi- Turbo with its 430hp based on the BMW 3 Series E30 and has now been crowned with the world record of the G-POWER M5 V10 HURRICANE RR.
With this performance G-POWER not only gained the prestigious title of a ?World Champion?, but it underlines the outstanding quality of the G-POWER product line. Starting with the legendary G-POWER DEEPTONE exhaust system, followed by the G-POWER aerodynamic program and the G-POWER alloy wheels ?SILVERSTONE?, up to various stages of performance upgrades.

This looks interesting. Although I dont know if it is necessary to use that 750 hp power in North America, but what if you just put a supercharged kit on the M5 engine? How much HP or acceleration gain will I get?

Yeah G-Power has proven itself with that awesome kit but they're pricey. I'm guessing there are about a dozen or so M5s/M6s in this country with this SC; one of those being Andrew Bynum from the LA Lakers.

Something else in the works is the SC from ESS Tuning. They recently posted some dyno charts from their test vehicle on M5Board that shows a gain of about 115rwhp on a stock M5 with 6 psi of boost. When they turned it up a bit to 6.5 psi, the gain was about 145rwhp. This is for their stage 1 kit without an intercooler and no other aftermarket parts like headers or exhaust. With those other mods, they can probably see 600rwhp. The kit is not scheduled to be released till late spring or early summer though but pricing should be very favorable compared to the G-Power kits.

Ye results are amazing. Pricey a bit I am sure. Easier to go with stage 2 on g-power.

My only question: Why was ESS so late to the game? They've stopped production on the E60 M5 already 2 months ago. Why did ESS wait until the F10 M5 is about to be released before they started R&D on their kit?

Not sure but they were probably focusing on the SC for the E9X M3s which have higher demands. They've been working on the S85 kit for some time now and I recall them saying it took over 8 months to work just on the programming itself.

I heard about that thing... Its a real beast. Unfortunately, supercharging NA engines is never the best idea. In this case I dont know exactly what the boost is, but if it is low boost (which i doubt) it is considerably less risky. But that said, this thing is really a beast...

Check with Precision Sport on M5Board. They're in FL and have done a couple of G-Power Stage II installs.
