This morning I was stopped at a traffic light and saw a Mercedes CLS 55 drive past me (nice looking car). About a second later 2 new E60 M5's pulled up to the light across the intersection from me, one blue, the other silver right behind the blue one. They looked great. The thing that made me first take notice that they were not standard E60's was the front air dam and slightly sloped side mirrors. As I got the green light and drove past them (at maybe 1 mph), I craned my neck to confirm the dual dual exhaust on both cars. I want one! I was thinking 550 in the fall, but now I want an M5.

I've got this feeling, once these have hit the streets and I start seeing them, it's going to be harder for me to drive my 545. Greed I guess.

Interesting.... hows that possible?. The only M5's out there right now, in North America, are press cars.... no one ownes an M5 yet in USA or Canada. Must have been on route to an Auto Show or demonstration, or modified. Anyone really can put an Mkit, dual exhaust, ACS mirrors, and an old M5 badge on it...
Or, I could be taling out of pure Jelousy....
I plan to put my deposit down for one, in June.!!!!!!!!!! wheeeeeeee!!!!!!

Hi. These were not modified cars. They were authentic M5's, even the wheels were the new M5 wheels. They were travelling together in a pack ( there were a few other BMW's around them but I don't know if these were part of the pack. Car manufacturers do a lot of testing in the hills around LA, I assume these were test cars. Or perhaps BMW NA is taking the cars to the LA dealers for a look, who knows. We see a lot of these things where high-end cars that haven't even hit our shores yet are being driven/tested around town. They often have a wire from one of the rear wheels into the car. Anyway, it was pretty cool.
