M5's do not come with run flats.

None of the M cars come with Runflats

Exactly, they add too much weight to the unsprung weight for a track car.

My Ride: 2007 E60 M5 Silverstone II full black leather (not extended) most UK options but no through loading sadly

I think you will find it is not weight alone, there are no runflat tyres yet freely marketed which will meet BMW's spec's for the M cars.
That is in sizes, speed rating and weight carrying capacity.
I am confident they will one day move to this type.
Carrying a can of gloopy goo and an electric pump in the car must at least be equivalent to any extra weight in the tyre walls of a runflat.

Well...the other big reason is performance. No best runflat matches the best non-runflat performance wise. Otherwise i'm sure (LOL) we would have seen run-flats in F1 (security reason).
