After I watched the video taken in South Africa that 335i beating M5 e60 (they says on P500 mode) and it due on elevations... There the elevation is 5500 ft.

Fact or opinion? or M5 driver fails?

Calgary's elevation is approximately 1048 m (3438 ft) above sea level. How affect the M5 power specially with NA on elevations? NA loses 17-20% and FI just 2-3% due the reduced air density on elevations.

What are you talking about?
335 beating the M5?
Sure the 335 gets off the line faster and is ahead for a short time due to the low end torque, but that M5 won,

unless you're talking about the 0-40 race

Did you see the video? it seems the M5 lost? o whatever the M5 driver sucks....

Ok, I researched it and found an interesting page talking about density: http://www.dragtimes.com/da-density-...calculator.php

Using the calculator: If I do 1/4 mile it gives me 13 secs with that altitude and sea level gives me an equivalent of 12.36 secs that is about ~%5 decrease.... not bad at all then!

Okay guys.. let me educate you!

1. The M5 driver was definitely in P500 mode, because he used launch control. And when in launch control, the beast shifts automatically for you!

2. If there is one thing the M5 lacks in, it's a stand start performance. I have driven the 335 and it has amazing traction off the line, it's just a slam the pedal thing and it jumps like a frog!

3. Looking at how the M5 overtook the 335 in that video, I will bet that 335 is running a piggy back ECU ( either a JuiceBox or a Vishnu box ).

Here's a video of my M5 from standstill in P400 mode against a 335 running JuiceBox Plus. 2nd run was rolling in P500 mode.

Thanks! but what happens at altitude? NA loses more power than FI. According the air density in Calgary, the NA loses 5% of power (not much). More altitude NA loses more. (If an M5 is in La Paz, Bolivia where the altitude is over 3500 m (~11.500 feet), it loses about 25% of power while FI only 5%).
