Is it true after every 3rd oil change BMW recommends changing the diff and gearbox oil? Who here actually does that?

I read something about it on m6board, and they said its even written in the manual! On the contrary, BMW claims the diff and gearbox is suppose to be "lifetime" oils lol, go figure.

On the E60 M5 the info is in the Service and Warranty book, page 5 or thereabouts under Engine Oil - change SMG fluids at first and then every third oil change.
