We have just received our Australian delivered M5 and, despite what we were told, the M5 has no front fog lights as standard. I wouldn't be worried about it, except that where we go for our weekends away has killer fogs and I regularly used the fog lights on our other cars..................
Anyone know if there is a BMW kit to fit fog lights to a new M5 ? I just 'phoned the service dept and they say there isn't a kit (that they know of) but I'm wondering if there is a kit for other markets someplace in the world that has lots of fog ???

To my knowledge, the e60 M5 in all regions were never released (or designed for that matter) to have fog lights. I believe your source was incorrect indicating to you that they come standard. They are not even an option for retrofitting. The two side cutouts in the front spoiler are cooling ducts that channel air.
The cheapest solution I can think of, is to have aftermarket fog lights installed, however, I would recommend against this as it may obstruct air flow necessary for cooling.
A much more expensive alternative is to look into buying a new front bumper/spoiler that incorporates both the cooling ducts and cutouts for fog lights. Off the top of my head, Hamann is the only manufacturer I can think of that offers such a spoiler.
Good luck.
