Very cool list. Thanks for sharing. Geez, I can't believe that F40 looks so dated.
Well, it is 20+ years old!

The CTS-V is ranked #42 on the list. Remember that this is ranked by top speed. I think you're thinking of lap times around the Nurburgring.
Ahh, ok. Well at least my M5 is ranked 19th on the list. Not bad especially when you compare pricing between the cars that made the list.

Thinking about it, I can see 205 indicated on an M5, but not 205 actual. 205 indicated would be about 195 actual or thereabouts assuming the usual speedometer variance. Can anyone point to source confirming a 205 actual top speed measured using the appropriate timing gear?

Seems like you're right that they're using indicated speed. Someone on that article referenced this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bmw_m5#E60_M5...2005-present.29
Scroll down to the Performance section for the E60 M5 and it says in parenthesis (205mph indicated, 195mph actual).
So maybe they used indicated speeds for all the other cars and your Porsche's actual top speed is about 170mph? Just messin' with ya.
I'm going to post this on the M5board thread too.

here's a run up to 206mph/332kph GPS verified, in a Kellners Sport M6 with some nice upgrades but no RPM redline increase : http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e63-bmw-m...peed-video.html
I wish we had roads like that hear. The most I've taken my car is 170mph in Mexico.

Funny thing, I was eating lunch today at a restaurant and my car was parked by the front door. This guy was saying goodbye to one of the waiters there and when he walked out, he walked back in and told the waiter "come look at this car outside. That is the fastest 4-dr sedan in the world!"
Just warms my heart and brings a smile to my face.
