My Ride: 2007 E60 M5 Silverstone II full black leather (not extended) most UK options but no through loading sadly
It may be an uprated car or it may just be a test vehicle.
BMW has officially announced that they are introducing Active air intake controls which will close off openings which are not actually needed - to reduce drag and save a few percent more fuel.
They report that a 5 series (they did not say which one), can run at up to 105 mph with front openings closed. The vents open as and when needed for extra cooling.

Lord knows if the uprated M5 will have holes in the bumpers or not, but I'm pretty sure there will be one. Why? Because the BMW-Alpina B5S exists, officially rated now at 530PS. We all know these days that Buchloe is not allowed to out-grunt Garching these days (more's the pity), at least on paper. So a revised M5 will soon be with us.
