To me the cls had a better tone when reved hard, it sounded more muscular while the m5 sounded like a electric motor whining.

IMO the best sound ever if from the L6 M3 CSL...now that sound won my heart and not even a ferrari or a lamborghini would make me change my mind!

CLS sounds like a cheap Mustang. M5 sounds sweet and strong more like race car.
Those professional drivers look like they just learn how to drive new car. They looks kind of nervous. Not look cool at all. They should like 007
Anyhew, they are of the best prof drivers out their. I like their maneuver!

Well the sound judgement is a subjective one, I anticipated the response, after all we are on a e60 forum; not a benz forum. As for the m5 sounded better than a Ferrari not to sure on that one. I guess sound of the motor is like music, there is something for everyone.

Then he took off and the pitch of the motor went up similar to a F1 car accelerating out of a corner. Pure sweetness. I guess he got tired of me lingering around in my "lowly" German car.

[/quote]Yeah sure. It's a known fact that the Ferrari engines are one of the best and sound like the very best, but for me naaah. Give me the straight 6 M3 CSL and with half of the money on that Ferrari i can make him eat biimer dust!
Sorry at the Top Gear test when they tested the CSL on the isle smth...i just went WHOOA when i heard the CSL's sound at peak power.
