I don't know much about racing but that doesn't seem to be racing line to me....she seems more intent on skidding the car through corners. I thought it would be faster to just maintain maximum traction without skidding the car by taking the racing line?? Correct me if I'm wrong

Keep in mind that the M5 is a heavy car, so at speed it will drift (and smoke the tires) more than a true sports car. Look at any of the video reviews and you'll notice it does drift quite a bit around corners at speed, and a few of the reviewers have commented on it during the reviews.
