Default Finally My M5 is enroute....

Bought a 08' SMG with 91k on it, yes, yes I know, "Rod bearing, Vanos, etc...". I will be attacking the preventative maintenance in fall/winter when the weather turns. I am in N Dakota, so I don't plan to drive it from November-April-ish. I have a heated garage to keep her warm.

I think, based on my research (forum reading and speaking with BMW NA) I am going to switch oil to 5-40 when things start to cool down. I put very few miles a year, maybe 5k, max.

Anyway, car is enroute from Ohio and should be her Monday. It's about time, I can handle anymore lack of sleep .

It has: heads-up, active/ventilated seats, soft-close doors, comfort access, and the other common options.

Not sure where your pictures reside but here's a FAQ on how to add images that reside on your computer:

https://5series.net/forums/faq.php?f...b3_attachments

Use the Insert link icon on the toolbar to add pictures that have a URL. PM me if you're still having problems.

Congrats on the new to you e60 M5! Like you,...I took the plunge for an e60 M5 too,...the cars can be had from $15 to $25K easily! And like you too, I also considered the Rod Bearings, VANOS, Throttle Actuators, SMG Pump issues too,....and decided, "What the heck, you only live once!". I picked up a 2010 //M5 Blk on Blk (loaded),....and now give a one word warning to anyone that hasn't driven an e60 M5! DON'T! That's right,...just a one word warning,...DON'T! I've owned 3 Corvettes,...'05 C4,...'06 C5,...'08 C5 Z06! And not one measures up to the e60 M5 in "total car do almost anything" terms"! If the V10 engine was a bullet proof say,...as the 505Hp Z06 engine,...it would be the most perfect high performance automobile! I've already received my personalized license plates,.... IMLGND1

Cheers...and good luck to both of us!

Please do! I had to shelve my E60 M5 plans so I need to live vicariously through actual owners. The sound that car makes, I swear I think I could listen to all day on infinite repeat. Good lord, that sweet V10........

Smile New M5

I have been ogling the 2006-2010 M5's for 12 years now. Almost pulled the trigger numerous times. I am happy to say I received my 2008 M5 three days ago! Its got 59K, gray outside black in w chrome trim. I like to think I am a fairly eloquent writer, however I only have one word describing this amazing machine, BEAST! I have driven Corvettes, mustangs etc in the past but this is the fastest and most exhilarating car I have ever driven! The handling, sound of the motor and raw power are ......beastly! Enjoy your new M, I am thoroughly enjoying mine.

TazT,.....congrats! Way to go and welcome to the V10 club. Have you thought about any personalized license plates for your M5? I got a set for mine, so if you happened to see this " IMLGND1 " in VA,...that's me! Note, I wanted " IAMLGND " but it was already taken.
