My Ride: Undecided 2006 530 or 550, undecided on tranmission either. 2002 Porsche 911 Coupe 2002 325i Premium, Xenon

According to my sales adviser the base U.S. MSRP for a 2006 M5 is $81,200 plus freight. It comes pretty much loaded except for some special leather & head-up display. Navigation & logic 7 are standard. I think it is priced right at $81,200 considering the competition.

My SA said this was just released by BMWUSA but it is only made available to BMW dealers. I suggest you confirm this with your SA & get some more details.

wow, that is crazy cheap considering the prices I' have been seeing in other countries. I know in Britain it cost around 60,000 pounds if that was converted into dollars as of today's conversion rates it would cost $105,138! awhh I love being in the U.S of A!

$3000 guzzler tax, ooouch!! Rather than thinking $81,200, it would be better to use $84,200 as a starting point. Even at $84,200 I still think the car is worth every penny considering the the performance numbers it puts up. The word "bargain" comes to mind.

The bigger question is how long of a wait before you can get your hands on one. It will definitely cause longer lines at BMW dealerships.

My Ride: '05 545i, silver gray, black leather with anthracite maple wood, sport package, premium sound, navigation, cold weather package, electric rear sunshade, folding rear seat, satellite radio prep, PIAA 4150K fogs, red rear reflectors, hardwired Valentine One

That's priced very competitively with the E55--probably a bit less expensive, for a much, much better car. I don't get the $3,000 gas guzzler--my '03 E55 was $1,700 and they probably both guzzle the same amount of gas!

I believe because M5 is classified as manual. It should be more fuel efficient than automatic, since it is not hence a bigger price tag for gas guzzler.

I just send in my order today via e-mail.

Yohoo!!!

sure those are the official prices ... but which dealer is going to ask for just that? afterall ... people are standing in line to get 'em ... they'll probably throw @ least $5K on it .. iw ouldn't be surprised to see $10-15K on top of that.

All together now, Say Market Adjustment

I wish BMW would launch an Employee Pricing Program as well, LOL. Wait, no, I guess to do that, you have to continually de-content your cars, and keep upping the price .

Regards,

Michael
