What I said is this car needs a bigger tank to give it a longer range. Sorry if this is confusing.
I also said that in terms of point to point times across long distances when speed limits don't apply, the big diesels make the best times because the "down-time" spent at fuel pumps is less. Sure the cars are much less engaging than an M5 to drive, but that's not the point I was trying to make. Again, sorry if I've caused confusion.

I agree with you.
I did 2000 km's a couple of weeks ago in Germany and the same M5 was overtaking me while I was cruising at 180 km/h a couple of times. He went in for gas and 20 min later he overtook me again. However the sound of the V10 was amazing when he overtook me, but my avg speed was higher.
