So you don't have complete DSC OFF with your M button? I remember member Roleez saying that the instructors at the M Performance Driving school said MDM is the right mode to use and not complete DSC OFF.

It depends on where I'm at and the conditions. The only benefit to having DSC off in M Mode is allowing S6. That additional quick shift point does make a difference. I'd say more often than none, I have everything set at max, but do keep it in MDM mode. I too, read an article where they said that in the M driving school, all cars are kept in MDM mode.

M Mode - Haa

Just kidding. It is always a lot of fun to use but I have gotten 2 speeding tickets in about 3 months. Used to have it on most of the time but now only during times that I can really enjoy the car. I never got a ticket in my ZO6 just before I sold it to buy this toy. But, there are so many Z's out there that they are not the novelty they once were (there are more fake Z's than ever out there and a lot more sleepers). By the way, anyone looking for a low miles Black 08 M5?? A good friend's sister/brother in-law combo bought it new and she hates SMG shifting. It just sits in the garage as he is a local MD and they have other toys that they drive. Way off topic. As the weather gets better and I have more mods, I will definitely keep it in M Mode most of the time. My .02.

i dont use m button in the snow or really bad rain, otherwise, its M button all the way!!! I too keep MDM on, unless u are really running and S6 seems warranted, its better to keep on the upperlimits nanny

I've had the M button off for the past three months with the exception of maybe a couple of times (two weeks ago to be exact). With all the salt on the streets, the car breaks the tires loose in P400 mode. Plus when driving to a client that is 2 hours away, I get 3 more MPG by leaving it off, and let me tell you, having it on at 65mph does not do much....

In the end, I love having the ability to turn it on/off based on the conditions and unfortunately, for where I live, it stays off for the winter for the most part.

My wife calls MDM, "Major Dumb Mode". I kid you not. She knows when I hit the M button, as the car feels totally different. She'll lean over at times, check the odometer display and ask, "Do you have Major Dumb Mode on?".

Hahahaha!

I have an M button; now I need the car.

HAHAHA. True, we all do. It's right between N and < on the keyboard we're typing on.

i always found it hilarious that the e60 (and Ms to follow) had a button that would switch it from "regular" to M.

Why would you ever want to buy an "M" if you dont always "M". I believe if i were an M owner i would never switch that button off.... interested to know how many M owners think the same,

Cheers.
if u hav an M, u would notice that beatin others is so easy without the M power on... jk!!!
