Help me - To M5 or not to M5
#1
OK, made the serious mistake of test driving an M5 at the weekend.
The dealer offered me a poor trade-in against my 530d but I can still (just) afford the M5 on straight HP (for our US readers that means I'll own the car outright with no balloon payment at the end of the agreement).
I really, really loved the M5 but although the heart says "YES!!!" the head says "no" because my 530d is also a beautiful car. It drives well, the low-end torque is spectacular and it doesn't attract police attention the way an M5 might It has a year to run on the Service Inclusive pack and it has 62,000 miles on it. I'm also a little concerned that the M5 might attract unwarranted attention from coins and keys does anyone have any experience of that?
The M5 is a September 06 car (a 56 plate in the UK) in Black Sapphire and Black Full Perforated Merino Leather with 26,500 miles on the clock. It has all the usual M5 toys plus (from dealer's website):-
Active Seat Ventilation (front seats), Bluetooth phone prep + telematics, BMW Connected Drive-Assist, Brushed Aluminium Shadow Interior Trim, Extended Voice Control System, Hi-Fi loudspeaker system, Hi-Fi system LOGIC7, Professional ISOFIX Child Seat System, Lumbar support. driver and front pass. M Multi-functional Seats (Front), Smokers package, Sunblind - rear windscreen, TV Function, Universal remote control, iPod Integration
Help me, please!!!

Once you've got I'm sure you won't look back - the smile on your face will be permanent and you'll have to visit the dentist and get the 'perfrect teeth' coz they'll be showing all the time

I see it -> http://www.sytnerhighwycombebmw.co.uk/used...SNB92080CY10033
The first one seems to have better toys -> Hi-Fi/L7,Isofix plus the brushed aluminium trim .... I think the exterior red on the second looks great but not a fan of the wood effect trim.
Nice 'headache' to have

M5!!!
If only my country charges alot less for a 5.0l on the annual road tax, i'd definately get one too...
but, since it's insane paying RM11,xxx.00 = US$3,5xx.00 just for the road tax every year...Can you imagine that? That's what's holding me back...Well, also the fact that it's too pricey here : RM888,888.00 = US$277,777.00 excluding the road tax & insurance that has to get renewed every year...I can get a Ferrari if i spent that kind of money in the US!
Even my 525i was bought at RM400,000.00 = US$125,000.00...
Go for the M5...You guys are lucky that your country doesn't charge stupid figures like in my country here...Oh well!
