thanks all. I like the M seats, but want the ventilation. the difference is adding about 6200 in options to do it, though. I am between indy red and interlagos blue. anyone who has seen both in person want to comment? i am a huge fan of imola red, and if it's close, all the better. looks like a Mar build from what I understand.

I'm never going to meet ur wife, but I can tell she is very cool already! lol as everybody says load her up, and IMHO Indy Red/black/walnut madeira is the way to go! but once again you have to make that ultimate decision, if only BMWNA would stop being so damn anal, this would be a great choice/time for individual

Hmmm, Hope she gives you some green too.

Any military discount?? My first BMW, a nearly new 1971 2002 was purchased at the Canadian PX in Germany by a US officer. Got it back to the US and his new wife refused to learn to drive a stick. Whoops... I was stationed at APG at the time--the right time--and bought it for $2000. It had about 4K miles on it; only peculiarity was the German manual. Those were the days when people didn't know what they were, and ergo, my "BUMWA" moniker.

Put another 100K on it and have never turned back.

Good luck,
Ray Hull

Congrats. That 2.5L never did fit into your current stable.
It's 3.0L in North America.

didn't want to rub it in, but yes, serving in the desert does have one benefit, about 6k off on a new M5. I'd be stupid not to, but this one will definitely be my daily driver.

The indy red is NOTHING like the imola red. You'll be very dissapointed if you expect that. The indy red is really more of a 'rust' color, very subtle, and unique. The blue is stunning, absolutely the knockout color for the M5. But, it is the highest maintenance color you can buy - even worse than black. And if you don't want to attract attention, get another color - this is a 'look at me' color for sure.
