AT LAST !!! I DID IT!
The '03 545iSE served me well .. but the warranty was up, the service inclusive option about to expire.
Popped by my dealer y'day and fell in love. Sealed the deal this a.m., and expect delivery this coming Saturday (Feb16).
I've bought an "Approved Used" car, but wait before you comment.
The guy who originally bought it new from the dealer had a 997 TT on order. For the wait, he thought he'd fill in the gap with an M5. Had it 3 weeks and got a call from his Porsche dealer that there was a cancellation slot just come up and that his 997 TT was about to be delivered to him. So he went back to the dealer and they bought it off him (taking a HUGE hit naturally).
So I've now got an almost new M5 (has 1,000 miles on the clock) coming to me.
Spec:
Interlagos Blue/Ex. Black Merino
Sun protection glass
Bluetooth phone prep etc.
Heated seats
USB/Audio
The reason for the delivery this Sat, is due to the fact I have to wait for them to instal a tracker first (insurance requirement).

thx for all the congrats .. the wait is now killing me.
i don't mind sharing the saving .. the guy paid ?71k new, dealer put her up for ?61k. I've walked away with it at ?58k, good deal? No lease.. leasing not the done thing in the UK I think.
was originally going to buy black on black .. but saw this one at the dealer and melted. i think the blue definitely SHOUTS M5. Likely to be easier to keep clean too.
with regards to whether this guy has ruined the car .. obviously i can't be 100% sure of what he did with it while he had it. but he did buy it to own it .. reason for selling it was the opportunity arrising to be delivered early on his 997TT.. BUT, it IS brand new (in age), and i have the full 3yr BMW warranty ... so my mind is at ease with it.
as soon as she's on my drive, i'll post pics.
