E60 M5 Gas Mileage
#1
I'm considering trading up my 550 sport for an M5. I've been getting approximately 24mpg (satisfied) and don't want another gas hog (I have an F350 that gets 13.5 mp). What should I expect for an M5 (2007-2010)?

I average 14ish with mixed driving and 16ish with 80% highway... you're not going to get 24mpg haha
P.S. this is with careful driving... with moderate acceleration and moderate driving its not that much less... 12.5 to 13 ish

Thanks for sharing. I have a follow-up question: What is the fuel tank capacity for the M5?
Also i have seen 11L/100kms.. i dunno what that converts to.. but heres a link to a similar discussion on m5board.com

real world will get you around 10mpg US, seriously. I have no idea how anyone gets more unless they are driving mostly on the highway. If you have any local driving, dont expect more....range is around 110-120 miles until the nanny warns you to get gas quick. serious. but dont worry, you'll never even look at the fuel gauge once you hear the S85

Amazing car, though it borders on Gallons per Mile instead of Miles per Gallon!!
