It never will be the case Scott. The F10 will never live up to the E60, just read the superlatives again based on the mighty S85. You will never hear that again. No one is going to say, "the amazing manifold in the TTV8 found in the F10 M5 as compared to the F10 550 turned an ordinarly model line engine into an amazing Motorsport feat".

M is done until they go back to their roots, and it aint putting out a car based on a FI line engine with tweaks and a tune, that does NOT make an M

I think it's cuz we're in SoCal and NYC. There's a TON of them. Not too many LCIs on the road though. Come to think about it, I honestly haven't seen an M5 for the past month except for meets and friend's M5s.

I don't know if there are that MANY M5's in OC. I see 5's all day every day, but maybe a M5 once a week or farther in between.

Yep I am border line right now I can afford it but is it worth it.... if i never drive a M5 and only drive the 550i i figured i won't know what i am missing right? I think it will come down to whatever is the better deal a clean M5 in the Low 30's or a clean 550i in the mid 20's. I have a couple leads on both...

let's cross our fingers and hope it will go up in value...LOL. That's never gonna happen until 20 years later.

Wow ... pretty sad news that the V10 reign has ended. Definitely a great driving machine and by far the most unique BMW I've ever driven.

Well, we will have to see what happens when the M5 actually is on the market. It certainly looks to be a lot faster than the E60 M5. But yes I would expect a loss in the areas of thrilling engine noise and the precision of the motor's response. And of course, I assume that the sinful weight gain from E60 to F10 will continue in the M5.
