Default coilovers - or springs

Hi Guys

Im a new owner of the m5.

My previous M was lowered on coilovers just how i like it.
for example

I wanted to go down this route with the m5 but i dont want to mess with the handling of the car.

Forgive my basic knowledge of what is mechanical
But i thought you couldnt fit the coilovers because they with mess with the active damper settings?

Also im not sure if the coilovers would be a little too much and wondered this time if I could do almost similar on springs
Does anyone have any suggestions of a good set of springs and a good drop to go for ?

Thanks

Mo

Hi Mo,

Are you planning to track the car or just daily use? Springs are great just for stance and occasional track day, but if you want to have adjust-ability I would go with coilovers. Also, if you just do springs you will have wear out your OEM shocks a lot faster.

Thanks for the post

I wasnt aware of the extra wear on the OEM shocks !

I dont intend to track it really - maybe once in rare while on track.

I didnt realise then from what your saying that coilovers were still an option without upsetting the active M systems on the m5?
I think thats where I was unsure...

We can get you cancellers for the edc. If you want to have adjustablility then I would go with coilovers. If not then Eibach springs

Its a separate plug so the edc errors don't come up

CKS coilovers are $2150
