Just received my renewal for 2010 and it went up a whopping 38% from last year. In fact, my new car registration was $355 back in December 2005. Now its $432 and the car is nearly 4 years old. I'm all for taxes, but the license fees are based on the value of the vehicle and it certainly hasn't appreciated.

Completely agree, I should be getting mine soon and last year it was $257 - oooh, can't wait to see what the good state of California has in store for me this year.
