Hey, I love drinking out of a dirty, used potty at Applebee's with my little mouth.

As noted, if you are going with an 06, it will be an SMG no matter what.
To correct some inaccuracies...
The manual is actually a lot of fun to drive and sells just as bad as the SMG does in this economy with gas prices heading north of $3 a gallon...

Definately SMG - Honestly I didnt like it at first but after two days with the car I am totally in LOVE! It really helps to find a nice quite spot you can play around with the car. Open the windows and get to know the sound of th engine and get used to shifting at high RPM's
I want to get my calipers painted YES or NO and what color RED?

go with SMG. I was a skeptic as all my prior cars were 3 pedal manuals. SMG gives amazing shifts and feels like you are driving a manual without the pedal. The only downside is on dead-stop launches - where, I'd prefer to have a clutch pedal that allows you to feather the launch.

Hey guys, i am in the market looking for an E60 M5. After some mixed up reviews, i am kinda confused on wether i should go for a manual or and SMG. Which one is better and sportier? Also, has anything changed from an 06 to 09? Does the year matters? I am looking at this interlogas Blue w/ white interior SMG, with 34k miles and the dealer is asking $47k. What do you guys think?
clutch shifting makes you feel "alive"...
this little bit of SMG performance edge which is being talked about is only on the paper and in real "controlled" track conditions. I drove both and loved the 6 speed with a Clutch and got one...see what gives you more FUN as at the end of the day, that is it all about..
drive both and make up your mind...
that would be my 0.02c
