Hi everyone,
What brand of tires do you recommend and how long (assuming normal driving conditions) do they last? Nothing toooooo expensive or cheap, just great value for the $.

I'd assume 19s last 15-20k miles.

I just went through my first set of Michelin PS2s after about 26K miles. That's right, 26,000+ miles. Most people will say that these only last about 10K miles but I guess cause I'm mostly in traffic to and from work, my tires lasted a lot longer. Just got a new set installed on Fri.

Unfortunately, these aren't cheap though at about $1600 a set for 20" tires.

Michelin PS2 hands down is the best tires Ive driven on before.

Potenza SO-2s are remarkable tires, they come oem on ferrari and porsche

+1 on those michelins though, great tires :)

I'm gonna put a vote in for the toyo T1R's, however in terms of a bang for your buck tire I like the general exclaim UHP's. If you are just street driving the General's will be great if you plan on tracking you may find them a little soft in the sidewall.

On this forum "normal" covers a variety of driving styles and needs.

• What are your concerns / needs about noise or ride comfort?
• Do you need 4 season driving or will you occasionally travel in extreme cold or snow while you are on these tires?
• Wet weather handling - if you are in the rainy zone this may be a factor to consider a must!
• Tread life - you seem to get good tire wear or aren't concerned about short or long tread life.
• Value - for some $300/tire is in the ballpark ... for others $100 is a lot of money; can you narrow the range?
• RFT/Conventional: It's a love-hate story.

That said, for my mild winter season driving on my 530xi I went with General UHPs. Decent performance overall (handling, tread life, wet-dry braking performance, price @ > $125/ea).

RWD V-8 drivers might eat them up faster.

Comfort is a big thing, dont really care about noise that much. No snow in the bay area, sometimes rain. Wet weather handling is a must!
LONG TREAD LIFE is a must! I think $400-500/tire is a lot. I'd like to stay under $400. Is RFT a lot more? If so, doesnt matter.
