This message popped up on the IDrive screen this morning. I also noticed that at low speed breaking, there is a rubbing sound that corresponds with each rotation of the wheel/axle. I'm not sure what to look at. I check the rotors and pads and calipers to see if anything is hanging up I didn't see anything. This is an 06 525xi with 114,000 miles. The rubbing sounds is only at 10mph or less. Breakes feel and sound fine at normal driving speeds.

Any ideas?

The brake fluid was a good bit low. I topped it of and took it out for a test drive. It did not fix the issue. Listening closer, it sounds like something is catching on each rotation of the wheel/axle. This is going to drive me nuts.

I also realized this is in the wrong forum. Should be in the E60 Discussion.

Can also be the signs of dead battery/alternator. I had that same message for a dead battery.

The message has gone away and hasn't come back. If it is a battery or alternator issue, I'm guessing it will come back again? I did the lock to lock steering trick.
