Do you have an M5? If you don't then you will find it very difficult to install the OEM M5 exhaust on a 525, 530, 545, or 550. Really, you can't. I know of one person that installed one half of the OEM M5 exhaust and customized a dummy pipe for the right side to give the illusion of a quad setup.

I too bought an M5 exhaust system from an upgraded car (GMP Perfromance in NC- GREAT guys) and am wondering whether I have the guts to mod the trunk floor as needed. I only paid $100 for the system (cat back with center muffler, 4 mufflers and all the pipes). I think I can section the spare tire into an M5 like compartment, and then move the battery into that compartment. Stock M5 heat shields and hangers and such will complete the mod, and they're available on www.realoem.com along with alot of the technical diagrams of the parts and such. I like the M5 rear apron and would probably do that (from QUAD_M) . I bet it would make a great sound when done and look awesome...

I'm a pretty good fabricator and welder, but I still haven't gotten the guts to get into cutting a $70k car... Let me know if you have any ideas.

As far as I know it is not possible without pimping the under of the car, you may cut the sparetire compartement but we have seen in Dingolfing BMW e60 is produced there, that that part is part of the chassis I would not mess with that. You can of course cut that, just know what you do.

Other thing, those who have the M5 rear on their normal e60s they have not cut that, and left the sparetire comp. block the diffuser of M5 rear bumper, so that has no effect.

My diffuser is crashed and also hit the spare compartement and to repair that is not easy. Good luck.

hey thanks Tajaro

sure i can get you the quad rear bumper but running the second REAL pipe its not a big deal if you can find
the right custom muffler shop in your area. it will cost you 200-300 dollars to make it happen
all you have to do upgrade the exhaust tips either original bmw chrome tips or you can go with the
hamann or anyother aftermarket products.

take care..
Tony.

It seems indeed unprractical in terms o required costs and surgery.... I'll be patient and buy a used M5. I'll sell all my toys and get one.. . Anyone wants to trade their M5 for:

-- 1993 Range Rover 4.2 LWB +
-- 2002 Mercedes C320 +
-- 1998 Mercedes SL 500 +
-- 2004 BMW 545i with OEM front fascia

dreaming?...
