By the way, I heard the m3 does not have front bumper parking sensors, only rear parking sensors. Does the m5 have both from and back parking sensors?
Front and Back PDC.

Both transmission are nice, but the SMG takes the car to a different level. The MT6 is smooth, (even with a long throw shifter), but I agree, I found myself more attentive to making the shift. Driving the SMG just goes without thought, you can adjust the car on a drop of a dime, for any situation you come upon -
like an E55 or RS4 . BMW got it right when they developed the V10/SMG combo. Give BMW credit for listening to their customers and giving them a MT6 as an option. I don't think MB or Audi would do that. Either way the M5 is a fantastic car to own and drive

Supposedly the next gen F10 is going to be a V8 twin turbo > 500hp and more gas efficient.

More likely 400HP engine from the X6 for a TT V-8 version of the 550i-equivalent model. For the new M5, say goodbye to the V-10. The F10 M5 will have a tweaked version of the same TT V-8 as in the X6, due to the ever-tightening emissions regulations. This version of the new twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 will supposedly send around 540bhp to the rear wheels.

For 09 the 3-series has front parking sensors (at least on the sedan).

I chose the 6MT in the M5 because I wanted a manual trans car. Everything that is written above is true - BUT, there is nothing like rowing your own gears

I love this forum for the honest and open exchange of ideas! Honestly... I chose the 6MT so my family wouldn't be able to drive it!!!!!

This can't be right
http://www.edmunds.com/bmw/m5/2008/review.html

The article says 0-60 manual = 4.4 sec and 0-60 smg = 4.8 sec. Thought smg was faster?
