not sure what you guys mean on "premium"............here is what i can think of....... car @50,000 and premium @30,000 = 80,000... is that right?.... and if this is true.... boy i would wait for the hype to go down.... or not get it.... and use the money for something else..... just my 0.02 cent premium..... eric d

The dealership where I ordered my 550 (in California) has now decided to charge a $25,000 premium on the first M5s.? They originally offered to hold the price to MSRP, but since so many others are charging a premium, well, that leaves out a lot of dollars for them.?

So, for those of you who where able to buy the M5 in a rational market location, well done.? ? For those of you in CA, ouch.?

I was wondering how long after its first introduction, were dealers charging
a premium on the earlier M5.

I just get the feeling that there might be enough people willing to pay the
premium to make that the true market price. Just feel bad that it is the dealer
and not the BMW company capturing that extra money.

Does someone know how many new M5's can BMW make in a year ?

Never a good idea to be an early adopter.

Maybe after a year or two after the initial release of the M5 will we see the dealerships putting that "premium" to rest. One can only hope. :'(
